Why should I get a wedding video?
Wedding videos are a great way to capture the wedding day from start to finish. Not only does it capture the atmosphere of the day, but more importantly the audio and the stories as the day unfolds. At the end you are able to watch the important things again like the ceremony, speeches and any special moments that cannot be done with photography. There is so much going on in the day, so couples really enjoy being able to sit back and relax and watch the day and all the important bits again.
Can we provide our own music to feature in the background of the video?
For the main wedding film we ask for a selection of your audio that we will then use throughout the main wedding film edit, this is a great way to have some music that is special along with the most important day of your lives.
Do you record in high-definition (HD) and what about 4K.
Yes we film everything in full HD 1080p. This is perfect for play back from anything from TV’s, projectors to even iPads. There is a lot of hype going on about 4K at the moment but we don’t believe its all there, TV stations do not broadcasts in 4K, very hard to find a 4K projector and very few have 4K TV’s at home. Professional playback sites online like Vimeo do not even offer 4K. So with 4K you not really going to notice its full quality and majority of computer screens don’t even run at 4K. Either way if you would like to secure your wedding at 4K (UHD) resolution not a problem let us know as there is an add-on price for this.
Why do wedding films cost so much?
There is a lot more work involved in wedding films compared to photography. Part of our job is also mastering audio recordings to capture the best audio quality as well as running multiple camera angles to be able to allow smooth cuts in our edits. We also have to carry ten fold more equipment, higher spec editing computers and a lot more maintenance. Not only does this make our work harder but it means we cannot miss a moment of speech or movement as this will affect the whole outcome where photos are just stills. Having to work around guests and people walking in front of rolling cameras so we have to have fall back angles to cut to. When it comes to capturing the footage and then sorting it out and ensuring everything is in sync this can take up to a few days to do correctly. The wedding film we have to watch countless times, make notes and pull important parts and stories that bring the whole day together nicely. Mastering the film cameras and cuts, colour grading and audio mastering can take a few weeks to do and then we proof all our work. Photography you can usually have it all captured, edited and presented in a day or two. Have you ever been to an event with just photos and then suddenly you see some video footage and how it captivates you? Well why not have a magical wedding film special to your wedding day, after all its one of the most important days of your lives together.
Can we get an additional filmer?
Yes of course this is possible and usually recommend for weddings over 200 guests. However it does push the price up. A standard day rate for an additional hand that actually has their own good reliable gear and they know what they are doing on the day for full day is $1000. Start of day till end of location shoot $600.
What cameras do you use?
Most of our main film work is done with professionally cinematic cameras and mostly Sony. For special cinematic gimbals and equipment for certain pieces we will mount cameras that are based on weight and scale as the cinematic cameras are too big and heavy. On the day we can be using over $50 000 worth of camera gear.
How long does it take for us to get the final package?
Firstly we like to make things clear we do not like to rush things just to get it out to you. With precision and time we make stunning handcrafted films that we put our heart into. Usually we try push to get everything wrapped up and on your door within one to three months (Film is a very delicate and time consuming job). This allows for full edits, proofing for the feature film with yourselves, custom made packaging as well as some prints. Don’t forget film takes ten times longer to edit and produce then photography. So if your photographer says a month turn around, dont expect the same with film especially within peak season. Then we also need to arrange print material, online uploads and rendering.

Do we hand over RAW footage
No we dont, we do all the editing and creative work for you to present the best we can. Asking for RAW footage is quite offensive to a creative person, rather do not do it and enjoy the talent and work produced. It takes a long time to learn the skills, yet alone pick up your own creative mind on things which is unique and can never be replicated.
Late Payments
Please note that should there be any late payments this can cause a delay in the production times for your final product. Late payments can also be subject to an additional late payment fee based on package, amount outstanding and length overdue. Costs of debt collections fees and services will be added to the outstanding amounts.
